Cha Jun Hwan

Cha Jun Hwan (차준환) occupies a rare lane in Korean culture because he already had national-star visibility before the entertainment industry formally stepped in. He is South Korea's most decorated male figure skater, the 2023 World Championships silver medalist, the 2022 Four Continents champion, and the first Korean man to win Asian Winter Games gold in figure skating. His 2026 signing with Fantagio did not create the profile. It recognized how far the profile had already travelled.

The résumé is built on legitimate firsts. Cha became the first Korean man to medal at the World Championships, the Grand Prix Final, and the Asian Winter Games, then pushed that standard again with a personal-best 273.92 points and fourth place at the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympics. That run matters because Korean men's singles has not produced many athletes with both technical ceiling and mainstream recognition at this scale.

There is also a second track to the story. Before the Olympic cycle made him a fixture in sports coverage, Cha worked as a child actor and commercial model, including an early role in The Return of Iljimae and a guest spot on Running Man. The Fantagio deal gives that entertainment-facing side real infrastructure while he continues to compete, which makes him less a retired-athlete pivot and more a crossover talent operating in two lanes at once.

What comes next is why his page feels timely. Cha is still an active elite skater, but his public image now extends beyond the rink into brand work, television, and long-term screen potential. Few Korean athletes have entered that space with this much credibility already banked.
