EL CAPITXN
EL CAPITXN (born Jang Yi-jeong, 장이정, September 10, 1993) is a South Korean singer-songwriter, composer, and record producer operating under BigHit Music within HYBE. He debuted on April 26, 2013, as the main vocalist and maknae of HISTORY under LOEN Entertainment, working under the stage names Yijeong and later J.Pearl before adopting EL CAPITXN. HISTORY disbanded in 2017 after four studio albums.
A vocal condition following the group's disbandment redirected him from performer to architect. He founded the production collective Vendors and built a portfolio that reads like a highlight reel of the Korean pop era: SUGA's "Daechwita" (2020), IU's "eight" (2020), BTS's "Take Two," "Mikrokosmos," and "Make It Right," PSY's "That That" (2022), TXT's "New Rules," "Growing Pain," and "Blue Orangeade," PLAVE's "WAY 4 LUV," ENHYPEN's "Highway 1009," tripleS' "Girls Never Die" and "Girls' Capitalism," and AHOF's "Rendezvous."
His debut as a headline artist arrived with the WHO KILLED EL? world tour (2025-2026), which moved through the Philippines, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Vancouver, Calgary, and New York, closing on March 14, 2026. The tour is built on a personal mythology: the death of who he was and the emergence of something that survived. His tattoos, worn visibly on stage, function as a record of that transformation.
In 2026, EL CAPITXN released "Breaking Through" alongside Jeremy Zucker and TXT's Taehyun, bridging Korean production with the American indie-pop world. A solo album is in active development, hinted to show a sound texturally different from his production work.
