Kang Jiyoung
Kang Jiyoung (강지영) came out of KARA as one of second-generation K-pop's most recognizable late-era members, then did something harder than nostalgia. She built a parallel career in Japan that treated acting and music as equal lanes. After debuting with KARA in 2008, she moved into film and television work, launched solo releases as JY through Sony Music Japan, and proved she could carry projects far from the idol system that made her famous.
That range is the reason the page matters. Jiyoung is not only a reunion-era KARA member under the wider RBW umbrella. She is also an artist whose Japanese run added real depth to her resume through dramas, films, and solo records such as Many Faces. Since KARA's 2022 return, her profile has held together as both a legacy-pop figure and a working screen performer, which keeps her relevant across Korean and Japanese entertainment at the same time.
