Kyujin

Kyujin (규진), born Jang Kyu-jin (장규진) on May 26, 2006, in South Korea, is the main dancer, dance leader, rapper, and maknae of NMIXX, the six-member group under JYP Entertainment's SQU4D division. The concentration of roles she holds — particularly the pairing of main dancer and dance leader, the latter meaning she is responsible for the group's choreographic standard rather than just executing it — makes her position in the group unusual even by K-pop's demanding multi-role framework. Debuting at sixteen, she became one of the youngest artists to debut under JYP Entertainment. NMIXX debuted on February 22, 2022, with the single album Ad Mare and lead track "O.O." The song and its choreography established immediately that NMIXX was operating at a physical performance level that would require consistent output at the top of what idols typically deliver. Kyujin's primary contribution is ensuring that standard holds across every performance, every tour stop, and every comeback. As dance leader, the chain of accountability runs through her: when the choreography is executed at full intensity and precision, that is partly her standard being met. As maknae — the youngest member — she occupies the dual position common in K-pop groups: expected to deliver youthful energy while simultaneously being held to the same or higher performance standards as older members. She carries rap responsibilities within NMIXX as well, a function that few group maknaes hold simultaneously with main dancer designation, adding range to what is otherwise already a full performance profile. The TIC TIC: CARNIVAL World Tour in 2025, which included NMIXX's appearance at the Festival de Viña del Mar in Chile — one of Latin America's most significant music festivals — demonstrated the touring scale that Kyujin's generation of performers navigates at an earlier career stage than any that preceded it.
