Park Gyuri
Park Gyuri (박규리) is the leader whose steadiness gave KARA one of the most durable identities in second-generation K-pop. After first appearing on screen as a child actress in 1995, she re-entered the industry through idol training and debuted with KARA on March 29, 2007 under DSP Media. Her role inside the group was never ceremonial. She anchored the vocals, absorbed the pressure of repeated lineup shifts, and became the member most associated with KARA's continuity.
That continuity mattered even more once the group moved from hit-era dominance into legacy status. Gyuri stayed visible through acting, musicals, hosting, and radio, with credits ranging from ShimShimTapa to the KBS historical drama Jang Yeong-sil. When KARA reconvened for MOVE AGAIN in 2022 and followed with Switch On in 2023, her presence made the reunion feel credible rather than cosmetic.
Her current solo-management chapter runs through Big Boss Entertainment, which announced its contract with her in January 2024. That same year she returned to full KARA activity after recovering from an orbital fracture that had briefly interrupted promotions. On HITKULTR, Park Gyuri sits at the intersection of idol leadership, long-tail group relevance, and the kind of veteran poise that still reads clearly on stage and on screen.
