Rain
Rain (정지훈 | Jung Ji-hoon) helped define the first global phase of modern K-pop. After debuting under JYP Entertainment in 2002, he turned sleek R&B choreography, arena-scale charisma, and television crossover appeal into a repeatable blueprint for the idol-soloist superstar.
The breakthrough came fast. It Rain and Rainism made him one of the central male stars of the second-generation boom, while Full House pushed his reach far beyond music. By 2006 he had sold out Madison Square Garden, a milestone that still matters when mapping how Korean artists first proved large-scale demand overseas. Hollywood followed with Speed Racer and Ninja Assassin, where Rain became the first Korean performer to win an MTV Movie Award.
His later career has stayed unusually broad. He remains active across music, touring, and screen work, from the 2020 project group SSAK3 to his villain turn in Netflix series Bloodhounds Season 2. Rain no longer needs an introduction. He is part of the architecture.
