Taeyeon

Kim Taeyeon (김태연) is the leader of Girls's Generation and one of the most acclaimed solo artists in K-pop history. Born March 9, 1989, in Jeonju, South Korea, she joined SM Entertainment through a talent search and trained for years before debuting with the nine-member group in August 2007. The group became one of South Korea's best-selling acts and introduced K-pop to a global mainstream audience. Taeyeon launched her solo career in 2015 with the EP I, whose title track debuted at number one on the Gaon Digital Chart. Her 2017 studio album My Voice produced three top-five hits: 11:11, Fine, and Make Me Love You. Purpose (2019) expanded her range with the number-one single Four Seasons. INVU (2022) matched that success with its title track reaching number one and Can't Control Myself becoming a global streaming hit. In November 2024, she released the mini album Letter to Myself. December 2025 marked her tenth solo anniversary, celebrated with Panorama: The Best of Taeyeon, a 24-track compilation of her defining work. She renewed her contract with SM Entertainment in January 2026. Beyond her solo output, Taeyeon contributes to SM sub-projects including Girls's Generation-TTS, Oh!GG, and Got the Beat. She has hosted Queendom 2 on Mnet (2022) and remains a cast member of Amazing Saturday. Her voice has anchored some of K-drama's most memorable soundtracks, including All About You for Hotel del Luna (2019). With over 20 million digital singles sold and 2.8 million Spotify monthly listeners, she is among Korea's top-selling solo artists of her generation.
