BApal Entertainment
BApal Entertainment (바팔 엔터테인먼트) is a South Korean one-person agency founded by and for BoA (권보아) in March 2026. The name blends "BoA" and "pal," the English word for friend, reflecting the agency's founding philosophy: a company built together by BoA and her fans. BApal's official bio simply reads "BoA's pals."
BoA established the agency after parting ways with SM Entertainment in December 2025, closing a 25-year partnership that began when she debuted at age 13 in 2000. Her departure marked a seismic moment in K-pop history: BoA was the artist who pioneered the Korean Wave's expansion into Japan, becoming the first Korean act to break through to mainstream Japanese audiences and top the Oricon charts.
BApal operates as a one-woman label designed to give BoA full creative control and flexibility over her musical direction. The agency stated at launch: "We respect BoA's profound musical identity and clear vision, and we will build an optimized environment that allows her artistic direction to unfold naturally and flexibly." The agency launched March 3, 2026, with BoA's first Instagram post introducing herself and her staff in a candid photo wearing bags over their heads stamped with the BApal wordmark.
