Comedy Haven is one of the early rooms that gave Korean stand-up a real physical base in Seoul. The Korea Times documented the venue in 2019 as the Gangnam home of the weekly Comedy Alive show, describing it as a club dedicated entirely to stand-up at a moment when the form was still trying to prove it could build repeat local audiences.

That matters because Korean comedy had long been shaped by broadcaster systems, sketch formats, and recruitment pipelines rather than the simpler stand-up model of comics, a microphone, and a room. Comedy Haven helped make that model feel workable in Seoul.
