Rise East Entertainment

Rise East Entertainment is an Indian film and content production company headquartered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Founded by producer Sreenidhi Sagar (Murthy Rajaram Sreenidhi) and co-directed by Sagar Pentela, the company has built its reputation on emotionally grounded storytelling rooted in Tamil culture. The company's Tamil-language filmography includes Bodhai Yeri Buddhi Maari, Anbulla Ghilli, Nitham Oru Vaanam, and Star, alongside web series Paper Rocket (Tamil) and Balu Gani Talkies (Telugu). Their focus on regional language storytelling with strong emotional cores has earned them recognition in the South Indian film industry. In 2025, Rise East inked a formal MoU with South Korean firm Flix Oven to establish a framework for Indo-Korean cinematic collaborations. That partnership directly enabled Made in Korea (2026), the company's flagship global project and first Netflix original. Written and directed by Ra. Karthik, Made in Korea follows Shenba, a young woman from Tamil Nadu whose lifelong fascination with Korean culture propels her to Seoul, where reality proves far more complicated than her dreams. The film stars Priyanka Mohan alongside South Korean actors Park Hye-jin (of Squid Game fame) and No Ho-jin. Music is by Hesham Abdul Wahab and Dharan Kumar. Made in Korea is the first India-Korea collaborative feature on a major global streaming platform, premiering on Netflix on March 12, 2026. The project positions Rise East as a bridge builder between Tamil and Korean cinema at a moment when cross-cultural collaboration on global platforms is rapidly expanding.
