Carmen

Carmen (카르멘), born Nyoman Ayu Carmenita on March 28, 2006 in Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia, is the main vocalist of Hearts2Hearts (하츠투하츠) and K-pop history first Indonesian idol to debut under SM Entertainment. She speaks Indonesian, Korean, and English. Her mother, Ayu Handayani, is a professional singer, and Carmen grew up in a household shaped by music from early childhood. She discovered K-pop through Girls Generation The Boys and set her sights on SM specifically. Carmen auditioned via Zoom, working through roughly 100 songs before clearing the process. She trained for two years before debuting February 24, 2025. As the eldest member of Hearts2Hearts, Carmen anchors the group vocally. Her role model is BoA, the trailblazer who built SM international framework long before it was standard. Off stage she is known for her radiant energy, her love of cooking and baking, and a pet cat named Luna. Her stage nickname Bali Girl tracks: she has spoken openly about the cultural pride she carries as the first from her country to reach this stage under one of K-pop most legacy-heavy labels. Throughout 2025, Hearts2Hearts built momentum at an unusual pace for a debut year. The group released The Chase in February, Butterflies as a B-side, STYLE as a standalone digital single in June, then Focus as their first mini album in October. RUDE!, their 2026 lead single, arrived as a house-based dance track that signaled a bolder sonic direction. With 4.6 million monthly Spotify listeners within their debut year, Carmen and Hearts2Hearts entered 2026 as one of SM Entertainment most globally tracked new acts.
