Dowoon

Yoon Do-woon (윤도운), known as Dowoon, is the drummer and vocalist of DAY6 under JYP Entertainment. Born on August 25, 1995, he debuted with the band on September 7, 2015 and helped define one of the rare idol-era acts whose identity depends on live instrumentation actually sounding lived in.

That is where Dowoon's value sits. He does not play for flash first. He plays for weight, timing, and the kind of momentum that lets DAY6 songs hit harder on stage than they do on paper. Across the group's rock singles, arena-ready choruses, and softer ballad material, his drumming gives the catalog a physical center while his backing and occasional lead vocals widen the group's emotional range.

He stepped into solo territory on September 27, 2021 with the single Out of the Blue, a quieter release that pushed attention toward tone and feeling rather than percussion showcase. Since completing military service in July 2023, Dowoon has returned to group work, variety casting, and the steady long-game growth that keeps him essential to DAY6 rather than simply adjacent to it.
