DAY6
DAY6 (데이식스) is a South Korean pop-rock group under JYP Entertainment, debuting on September 7, 2015. The four-member current lineup, Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon, operates as a full band: guitars, bass, keys, and drums, played live by the members themselves on every stage. That is not a novelty in pop music but it is rare enough in K-pop that it defines the entire DAY6 value proposition. Where most of their peers mime and perform over track, DAY6 actually plays.
The band built its reputation through a relentless release cycle. From January 2017 through December 2018, DAY6 released new music every single month as part of their Every DAY6 project, producing a catalog that expanded from guitar pop to rock, R&B, folk, and back again without losing coherence. Tracks like "You Were Beautiful" (2017) and "Zombie" (2020) became defining K-pop moments, both resonating far beyond the band's core fanbase. "You Were Beautiful" has accumulated well over 100 million streams and remains one of the most emotionally enduring songs from its era.
The group's fandom is called My Day. In 2024 they released the 8th mini-album Fourever and the 9th mini-album Band Aid, and in May 2025 they released "Maybe Tomorrow," continuing a run of activity that has maintained their relevance a decade into their careers. DAY6 is managed under JYP's subsidiary label Studio J.
