FT Island

FT Island (FT아일랜드) helped prove that a Korean idol system could support a real touring band. Launched in 2007 as FNC Entertainment's first band, the group built its early identity on emotional rock ballads, fast chart impact, and a live setup strong enough to keep scaling long after the first breakout moment passed.

The current trio of Lee Hong Gi, Lee Jae Jin, and Choi Min Hwan still carries that legacy. Korea JoongAng Daily reported in January 2026 that the band renewed with FNC again as it approached year 19, while the 2026 FaTe routing through Macau, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, and other Asian markets showed the group still has repeat-demand territory to work with. FT Island does not need to dominate every discourse cycle to matter. It just needs a stage.
