iKON

iKON (아이콘) is the six-member boy group that emerged from YG's Team B system and turned survival-show volatility into one of the strongest hit runs of late third-generation K-pop. First introduced through WIN: Who Is Next and Mix & Match on Mnet, the group debuted under YG Entertainment in 2015 and quickly established a hard-edged identity built on rap, emotional hooks, and crowd-sized choruses.

The early catalog moved fast. My Type hit number one before the full debut campaign was even over, Welcome Back stacked multiple charting singles, and Return delivered Love Scenario, the song that permanently changed iKON's commercial ceiling. After former leader B.I exited in 2019, the remaining members reset the group's structure and eventually left YG together in late 2022, prioritizing full-group continuity over a clean corporate break.

That reset matters to the group's second chapter. Under 143 Entertainment, iKON released Take Off and kept touring as a six-member act instead of retreating into nostalgia. The result is a group whose legacy is not limited to one era. iKON still sits at the intersection of idol polish and crew chemistry, and Love Scenario remains one of the defining Korean pop songs of its decade.

Fans Also Ask

How many members are in iKON?
iKON currently has six members: Jay, Song, Bobby, DK, Ju-ne, and Chan. The group originally debuted with seven members in 2015, but B.I departed in 2019. The remaining six stayed together and later moved to 143 Entertainment as a full unit.
What is iKON's biggest song?
Love Scenario is iKON's defining hit. Released in 2018 as part of Return, it topped Korea's digital charts for six straight weeks and became one of the rare idol songs to cross from fandom success into full general-public ubiquity.
When did iKON debut?
iKON debuted on September 15, 2015 under YG Entertainment with the single My Type, after the members were introduced through the survival programs WIN: Who Is Next and Mix & Match. The full Welcome Back rollout followed with multiple charting songs.
Is B.I still part of iKON?
No. B.I left iKON and YG Entertainment in June 2019. He later rebuilt his career as a solo artist under 131LABEL, while iKON continued as a six-member group and eventually launched a new chapter under 143 Entertainment.
What happened after iKON left YG Entertainment?
All six remaining members left YG Entertainment at the end of 2022 and signed together with 143 Entertainment in early 2023. That move let iKON preserve group activities, release the album Take Off, and keep building a live-tour identity instead of pausing indefinitely.
