Im Seong-jae

Im Seong-jae (임성재, born January 18, 1987) is a South Korean actor based in Seoul, represented by SEM Company. He debuted on screen in the 2018 film Sunset in My Hometown, and spent the next few years quietly building a body of work across Korean film and television before a run of high-profile projects elevated his profile considerably. He reached wider audiences with his role as the menacing Kim Min-sik in ENA and Netflix global hit Extraordinary Attorney Woo (2022). That same year he appeared in prestige productions Emergency Declaration and Hunt. In 2023, he delivered standout supporting turns: Sergeant Lee in post-apocalyptic thriller Black Knight, Ra Jong-seok in D.P. 2, Bae Min-ki in superhero drama Moving, and Choi Jung-bae in the critically acclaimed crime series The Worst of Evil. 2024 brought Hellbound 2, Gangnam B-Side, and action blockbuster Bogota: City of the Lost. By 2025 he was accumulating credits at pace: When the Stars Gossip, Newtopia as the pivotal character Na In-ho, and legal drama Law and the City. He appeared at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival for thriller Nocturnal. Most recently, he joined the cast of Netflix original The WONDERfools as Kang Ra-bin. Im Seong-jae is one of Korean cinema and drama's most reliable character actors, the kind whose presence sharpens every scene he steps into.
