Jeon Minwook (전민욱) is the leader of CLOSE YOUR EYES. Born October 16, 1999 in Gwonseon-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, he arrived at JTBC's Project 7 with a full debut cycle already behind him, having launched with BAE173 under PocketDol Studio in November 2020 under the stage name J-Min.
The experience showed: where most Project 7 contestants were newcomers, Minwook arrived knowing the terrain. He had participated in survival shows before, including Mnet's Boys Planet (2023) with BAE173 and the co-ed project group A SIX (2024). When the Project 7 finale aired on December 27, 2024, he placed third overall and was named group leader.
Minwook anchors CYE's rap architecture and steps into lead vocal duties across their records. He co-writes lyrics for the group's releases, drawing on years of experience crafting BAE173 material. In early 2025, he began co-hosting Show Champion alongside fellow member Jang Yeojun, adding broadcast experience to his resume.
In February 2026, he told CNN that the group's fourth album would be "something refreshingly new and unexpected." CYE's April 2026 comeback will be Minwook's fourth mini-album with the group, following Eternalt (April 2025), Snowy Summer (July 2025), and Blackout (November 2025).
