Joshua

Joshua Hong (홍지수), known mononymously as Joshua, is an American singer and member of SEVENTEEN, the 13-member group under Pledis Entertainment. Born December 30, 1995 in Los Angeles, he became one of the first American-born members of a major K-pop act when the group debuted in 2015. Joshua is part of SEVENTEEN's Vocal Unit, contributing to the group's layered harmonies and English-language content. His fluency in English made him the de facto international ambassador during the group's early years, frequently serving as translator during overseas promotions. Before K-pop, Joshua trained in classical guitar and attended church choir in LA, elements that still influence his musical style. He auditioned for Pledis Entertainment in 2013 and moved to South Korea at 17 to train. Beyond SEVENTEEN's group releases, Joshua has contributed original compositions and covers on the group's official channels. He holds brand ambassador roles with luxury fashion houses, leveraging his bilingual appeal for Western and Asian markets. In 2025, Joshua began his mandatory military service, temporarily stepping back from group activities while maintaining his status as one of K-pop's most recognized international faces.
