Jungwon

Jungwon (정원), born Yang Jung-won (양정원) on February 9, 2004, in Daejeon, South Korea, is the leader of the seven-member K-pop group ENHYPEN under BELIFT LAB, a joint label between HYBE and CJ ENM. Before his debut, Jungwon gained national recognition as a contestant on the 2020 Mnet survival show I-LAND. Competing against 23 trainees for one of seven debut spots, he finished first in the finale with 1,417,620 global fan votes -- the highest of any contestant. This entrance set the tone for his role as ENHYPEN's leader, a position he was officially appointed to after a 40-day internal selection process. As leader, Jungwon is known for his quiet authority and emotional steadiness within the group. He is one of ENHYPEN's main vocalists and a key dance performer, contributing to the group's synchronized precision and live performance quality. ENHYPEN debuted on November 30, 2020, with the mini-album "BORDER: DAY ONE," which set a debut sales record for the group. They have since released multiple full-length albums including "DARK BLOOD" (2023) and "ROMANCE: UNTOLD" (2024). Jungwon performed at Coachella 2025 as part of ENHYPEN's historic set, one of the few K-pop acts to perform at the festival at this stage in their career. The group has toured globally and maintains one of the largest active fanbases in fourth-generation K-pop.
