Lee Chan Hyuk
Lee Chan Hyuk (이찬혁) sits in the small tier of K-pop writers whose catalogue shaped an era as much as their public image. As one half of AKMU, he turned a sibling-duo setup into one of Korean pop's most distinctive songbooks, writing and producing the material that carried the act from K-pop Star 2 winners to long-tail digital mainstays.
After winning the survival show in 2013, Lee and Lee Su Hyun debuted under YG Entertainment in April 2014 with Play. Chan Hyuk quickly established himself as the duo's creative center through songs like 200%, Melted, and Nakka with IU. His work always felt less interested in idol formulas than in perspective, melody, and emotional framing, which is why AKMU never needed to sound like anyone else.
His career widened after military service ended in 2019. The solo album ERROR in 2022 and EROS in 2025 pushed his more conceptual side into the open, then 2026 brought a structural reset when AKMU left YG and launched Fountain of Inspiration. That move matters because it turned Chan Hyuk from a star songwriter inside a major label into a founder-artist building his next chapter on his own terms.
