Lim Hyun-sik
Lim Hyun-sik (임현식; born March 7, 1992) is a South Korean singer-songwriter, composer, and the lead vocalist of BTOB. Known professionally as Hyunsik, he is regarded as the group’s most naturally gifted musician: a pianist and guitarist who has contributed to BTOB’s songwriting catalog since debut, graduating from Howon University and Joongbu University with degrees in practical music.
Born in Seoul to folk singer Im Jiehoon, Hyunsik has music in his DNA. He debuted with BTOB under Cube Entertainment on March 21, 2012, and later joined BTOB sub-units BTOB-BLUE and 90TAN. He enlisted for mandatory military service in May 2020 and was discharged in November 2021.
His solo career launched with the self-composed EP Rendez-vous (2019), selling out two nights at Bluesquare in four minutes. His second mini-album, The Young Man and the Deep Sea (February 2024), drew strong critical praise for its literary depth. In August 2025, he released the digital single My Answer.
A full KOMCA member since 2022, Hyunsik has co-written songs across BTOB’s catalog. Since February 2024, he operates under BTOB Company.
