Ryu Seung-ryong (류승룡) never really needed a reinvention, but the streaming era made his range newly visible. Long before Disney+ put him in Moving, he had already anchored Korean commercial cinema through Miracle in Cell No. 7, The Admiral: Roaring Currents, and Extreme Job, a run that helped make him the first Korean actor to front four films above 10 million admissions.

What keeps him current is how cleanly that weight carries into television. In JTBC's The Dream Life of Mr. Kim, he shifted into a middle-aged office-drama lane without losing his gravity, then rolled straight into The Miracles of the Namiya General Store alongside Kim Min-ha and Yum Jung-ah. Ryu still reads like a scale actor, but the appeal is the warmth under the authority.
