Sandara Park (박산다라), known to fans as Dara (다라), is a South Korean singer, actress, and entertainer born November 12, 1984, in Busan. She first rose to fame in the Philippines from 2004 to 2007, winning the reality competition Star in a Million and releasing hits that made her a household name before she had even debuted in Korea.
She returned to Korea in 2007 and signed with YG Entertainment, debuting as a member of 2NE1 in May 2009 alongside CL, Park Bom, and Minzy. 2NE1 became one of the defining girl groups of the Hallyu wave, their sound built on hip-hop, R&B, and aggressive swagger at a time when K-pop girl groups were rarely given that lane.
