Seok Matthew
Seok Matthew (석매튜; Korean name: Seok Woohyun, 석우현) is a Korean-Canadian singer and one of five continuing members of ZEROBASEONE. Born May 28, 2002, in Vancouver, British Columbia, he brings a rare trilingual edge to the group -- fluent in English, Korean, and French.
Matthew trained under HYBE Entertainment for one year and six months. He was initially slated to join the group that became &TEAM, where he grew close to fellow trainee Maki before being cut. He then signed with MNH Entertainment and entered Boys Planet as its representative.
On the show, he went viral with his "All I Wanna Do" performance and his signature fan cheer "I Love You, I Want You, Seok Mattchu!" -- one of the show's most iconic moments. He placed 3rd in the finale with 1,702,174 fan votes, earning his spot in the nine-member debut lineup.
ZB1 debuted July 10, 2023 with Youth in the Shade, selling over two million copies -- the highest pre-order debut in K-pop history at the time. The group swept all 10 domestic rookie-of-the-year awards in 2023-2024. Matthew appeared on every ZB1 release across the group's five consecutive million-sellers.
When four YH Entertainment-affiliated members departed in January 2026 following contract conclusions, Matthew remained as one of five continuing with ZB1 through the group's extended run, including the farewell album RE-FLOW (February 2026). He is 170cm, MBTI ENFJ, blood type B. His older sister Yaebin Seok (born 1998) is a professional dancer; they performed together as children.

Who is Seok Matthew in ZEROBASEONE?
Seok Matthew (석매튜; Korean name: Seok Woohyun, 석우현) is a Korean-Canadian vocalist and rapper in ZEROBASEONE, the boy group formed through Mnet's Boys Planet survival show. Born May 28, 2002, in Vancouver, British Columbia, he is one of the group's most recognizable members for his bilingual personality, English-language humor, and consistent fan engagement across ZB1's domestic and international audience.
What rank did Seok Matthew get on Boys Planet?
Seok Matthew ranked 3rd in the Boys Planet finale on May 19, 2023, receiving 1,702,174 fan votes. His ranking was driven in part by a viral TikTok his sister Yaebin posted to rally support for him -- a moment that introduced him to audiences well outside the Korean entertainment industry's typical reach.
Is Seok Matthew still in ZEROBASEONE?
Yes. In February 2026, WAKEONE Entertainment confirmed that Seok Matthew is one of five members continuing ZEROBASEONE activities alongside Sung Hanbin, Kim Jiwoong, Kim Taerae, and Park Gunwook. The other four members -- Zhang Hao, Ricky, Kim Gyu-vin, and Han Yujin -- departed at the end of their initial contracts and returned to YH Entertainment.
What languages does Seok Matthew speak?
Seok Matthew speaks Korean, English, and French. His multilingual background stems from growing up in Vancouver, Canada, where English and French are both official languages and Korean was spoken at home. His natural code-switching and English humor have made him a standout presence in ZB1's international content and fan communication.
What is ZEROBASEONE's RE-FLOW album?
RE-FLOW is a Special Limited Album released by ZEROBASEONE on February 2, 2026, serving as the group's farewell project involving the full original nine-member lineup. It was released as a final collaborative record before four YH Entertainment-affiliated members -- Zhang Hao, Ricky, Kim Gyu-vin, and Han Yujin -- concluded their ZB1 activities in March 2026. RE-FLOW rounds out a ZB1 discography that includes five consecutive million-seller mini albums released between 2023 and 2025.
