ZEROBASEONE (제로베이스원) is the Boys Planet group that turned survival-show momentum into one of fifth-generation K-pop's strongest commercial runs. Since debuting in July 2023, the team has stacked million-seller releases at a pace few rookie groups have matched, with YOUTH IN THE SHADE, MELTING POINT, You had me at HELLO, CINEMA PARADISE, ETERNAL SPARK, and NEVER SAY NEVER all reinforcing the scale of the fandom around WAKEONE Entertainment.
The group entered a new phase in 2026. After the original nine-member chapter closed, ZEROBASEONE continued as a five-member act led by Sung Han-bin, Kim Ji-woong, Seok Matthew, Kim Tae-rae, and Park Gun-wook. Their sixth EP Ascend-, set for May 18, 2026, is the first full comeback built around that lineup and the clearest test yet of whether the group's post-project era can hold its own weight.
That is what makes ZEROBASEONE relevant beyond rookie hype. The group already proved it could sell at scale. Now it is trying to prove that a restructured lineup can still feel premium, current, and commercially dangerous in a market that rarely gives project-born acts a second life.
