ZEROBASEONE (제로베이스원) emerged from Mnet’s Boys Planet in July 2023 and immediately started breaking records. Their debut mini album YOUTH IN THE SHADE sold over 2.18 million copies in its first week, the highest first-week sales for any debut album at the time. Every Korean release since has crossed the million-seller threshold. The nine-member group operates under WakeOne Entertainment, a subsidiary of HYBE Labels. Formed through a global survival show, the lineup spans Korean, Chinese, and Korean-Canadian members, giving ZB1 a multinational identity that reflects the increasingly borderless nature of K-pop. Leader Sung Hanbin anchors the group as center and main dancer, while vocalists like Zhang Hao and Kim Taerae provide the sonic firepower. ZB1 swept Rookie of the Year awards in 2023 across MAMA, MMA, and the Golden Disc Awards. Follow-up releases MELTING POINT, You had me at HELLO, CINEMA PARADISE, and ETERNAL SPARK maintained commercial momentum with multiple Billboard 200 entries. Their first full album NEVER SAY NEVER (September 1, 2025), with lead track "Iconik," marked the group’s graduation from project group to full-cycle act. RE:FLOW (January 2026), a special limited album released ahead of contract expiration, served as a culmination of the original nine-member chapter. Following the departures of five members including Zhang Hao, Ricky, Kim Gyuvin, Han Yujin, and Park Gunwook in January 2026, the remaining five members confirmed continued activities under WakeOne.
