Song Kang

Song Kang (송강), born April 23, 1994 in Suwon, is South Korea's defining actor of the streaming era. Signed to Namoo Actors in December 2016, he studied film arts at Konkuk University before making his debut in the 2017 romantic comedy The Liar and His Lover. In 2018, he co-hosted SBS Inkigayo. The pivot to Netflix changed everything. Love Alarm (2019) established him as a leading man; Sweet Home (2020, three seasons through 2024) confirmed his range. He followed with Nevertheless (2021), Forecasting Love and Weather (2022), and My Demon (2023). The sheer volume of Netflix originals earned him the nickname "Son of Netflix." Song enlisted for mandatory military service on April 2, 2024, completing his service as an active-duty soldier and discharging on October 1, 2025. In January 2026, he confirmed his post-discharge comeback with tvN's Four Hands, a music-driven coming-of-age drama co-starring Lee Jun Young and Jang Gyu-ri, directed by Park Hyun Seok and written by Shin Yi Won.
