Sungjin
Park Sung-jin (박성진), known as Sungjin, is the leader, main vocalist, and rhythm guitarist of DAY6, the South Korean pop-rock band under JYP Entertainment. Born in Busan on January 16, 1993, he debuted with DAY6 on September 7, 2015, and has been the vocal anchor and de facto musical director of the band since its formation. Sungjin plays guitar on every track and has written and produced a significant portion of DAY6's discography across ten-plus years of activity. Where the band's vocalists trade off lead duties, Sungjin brings the most disciplined range, moving between raw rock delivery and emotive ballad performance with the kind of control that makes the rest of the band lean harder on their own parts.
He enlisted in the South Korean military on March 8, 2021, and was discharged on September 7, 2022. He returned to activity as a radio host and DAY6 member shortly after. On November 5, 2024, he made his solo debut with his first full-length album 30 (서른), a deeply personal ten-track record capturing stories from his journey to age thirty. Blending acoustic guitar-led ballads with confessional songwriting, the album retained DAY6's guitar-forward DNA while carving out his own distinct singer-songwriter corner. He supported the release with his first solo concert, held at Kwangwoon University's Donghae Arts Center in Seoul from November 8 to 10, 2024.
