Wendy
Shon Seung-wan (손승완), known as Wendy (웬디), is the main vocalist of Red Velvet. Born February 21, 1994 in Seoul, she spent formative years in Canada and the US before returning to Korea as a trainee, eventually debuting with Red Velvet in 2014.
Wendy's solo career launched in April 2021 with the EP Like Water, a showcase of her range across R&B, pop, and ballad. Her second EP, Wish You Hell (March 2024), peaked at No. 2 on the Circle Album Chart in Korea. In April 2025, following the expiration of her SM Entertainment contract, she signed with ASND Entertainment for all solo activities. Her third EP, Cerulean Verge, dropped in September 2025, and was quickly followed by her first solo world tour, W:EALIVE.
Along with music, Wendy has worked in musical theatre, making her stage debut in the production Rebecca in 2023. She also hosted the long-running radio program Wendy's Youngstreet on SBS Power FM from 2021 to 2023, and became a member of SM Entertainment's supergroup Got the Beat in 2022.
