IGIN
IGIN is a Korean craft gin brand co-founded by Jin of BTS and celebrity chef Baek Jong-won, launched in December 2024. Produced by Jin's agricultural corporation Jin's Lamp, established in Yesan, South Chungcheong Province in 2022, IGIN is distilled from premium Korean rice and fresh apples, drawing on the region's traditional liquor culture (전통주) and local farming heritage. The brand launched exclusively through GS25 convenience stores in Korea before expanding nationwide in January 2025.
The name IGIN is a triple play on words: the English word "gin", Jin's name, and the Korean verb 이기다 (igida, "to win"), rendered as 이긴 ("having won") in its tagline-friendly form. The tagline Where Smiles Begin positions the brand around warmth and celebration rather than craft spirits elitism. Distribution is handled by Yesan Doga, a subsidiary of The Born Korea, with Jin serving as global ambassador after completing his mandatory military service in June 2024.
By October 2025, IGIN had entered Philippine supermarkets as its first Southeast Asian market. RTD products Sacomtonic and Sweet Watermelon launched at Lawson convenience stores across Japan in August 2025, followed by an Apple Gin variant in September 2025. Pink Comtonic launched in March 2026 with a Jin gift set and Amazon US distribution timed to BTS's world tour. The product lineup includes the original craft gin, Apple Gin (500ml), Tangy Apple Tonic, Sweet Watermelon Tonic, and Sacomtonic, targeting the MZ generation with fruit-forward flavors that lower the barrier to premium gin.
