BTS
BTS (방탄소년단) is the seven-member group that turned a Seoul hip-hop project into the most commercially dominant act in Korean pop history. Formed by BIGHIT MUSIC and debuting on June 13, 2013, the group built its rise on self-written music that kept returning to youth anxiety, ambition, and self-definition.
The breakthrough became global by stages, not by accident. Wings pushed their Korean sales into seven figures, Love Yourself: Tear made them the first Korean act to top the Billboard 200, and Dynamite turned them into the first all-South Korean group to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Alongside stadium touring, BTS also expanded its cultural footprint through the UNICEF Love Myself campaign and repeated appearances at the United Nations.
That scale still matters because BTS remains the clearest proof of how HYBE and BIGHIT MUSIC built a Korean group into a true global-pop institution. The members RM, Jin, and Jung Kook each carry huge solo visibility, but the group brand remains the benchmark.
