Mawazine

Mawazine is the Rabat music festival that has grown into one of the biggest live-event platforms in Africa and the Arab world. Created in 2001 under the patronage of King Mohammed VI and organized by the Maroc Cultures association, the festival built its identity around large-scale international programming across multiple city stages while keeping a mass public audience at the center.

That scale is what makes the brand matter in K-entertainment terms. Official festival materials say recent editions have drawn more than 2.5 million attendees on average, turning a Mawazine booking into more than a routine overseas date. When ITZY landed the OLM Souissi stage for 2026, the festival became a real proof point for how far a JYP Entertainment group can push beyond the usual East Asia and North America circuit.

Mawazine still operates as a broad world-music and pop showcase rather than a genre silo. That flexibility is the brand's edge.
