Paramount+
Paramount+ is the flagship streaming service under Paramount, the entertainment conglomerate formed by the August 2025 merger of Paramount Global and Skydance Media. The platform combines original series, studio films, live sports, news, and event programming across Paramount Pictures, CBS, Nickelodeon, MTV, and BET libraries.
The platform's K-entertainment relevance comes from two directions. First, Paramount Pictures and HYBE America co-produced an untitled K-pop movie starring Ji-young Yoo and Eric Nam, set for a February 2027 theatrical release. Shot entirely in South Korea with director Benson Lee attached, it is the first major American studio production filmed on location in Korea with a K-pop narrative at its center. Second, Paramount+ carried the 2026 American Music Awards telecast simultaneously with CBS, placing KATSEYE and other K-pop adjacent acts on a dual-platform global broadcast.
Under Skydance CEO David Ellison, who became chairman and CEO of the combined company after the August 2025 merger closed, Paramount has signaled interest in global content strategies that overlap with the K-entertainment pipeline. The HYBE America partnership and cross-platform event strategy suggest the streamer sees K-content as part of its international growth model.
