FIFTY FIFTY (피프티 피프티) officially put their name on one of rock's most beloved songs. Their cover of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" released March 24, 2026 at 12 PM KST across major streaming platforms, confirmed by ATTRAKT. The track is part of a Sony Music tribute project marking both the 60th anniversary of Pink Floyd's debut and the 50th anniversary of the 1975 original. The five-member ATTRAKT group, Keena, Chanelle Moon, Yewon, Hana, and Athena, took a deliberate approach to the material: rather than adding dramatic rearrangements or flashy production, they let their vocals lead. The arrangement moves from quiet, spare minimalism at the top into a fuller, more powerful finish driven by layered bass and clean guitar. For a group that built its name on bright, polished pop, the move into classic rock territory is a statement. And it lands.
A Tribute Project Steeped in Meaning
The music video for the cover was first shared on FIFTY FIFTY's official YouTube channel on February 10, 2026, ahead of the March 24 global streaming rollout on platforms including Spotify and Apple Music. According to Sports Khan, the project was planned and organized by Sony Music to honor both the 50th anniversary of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" album, originally released in 1975, and the band's 60th debut anniversary. The accompanying video was filmed at the Han River in Seoul during midwinter, using the river's cold, still expanse as a visual backdrop for the song's themes of longing and absence. It's a smart visual pairing. Pink Floyd's original was written partly as a tribute to founding member Syd Barrett, whose mental health struggles had taken him away from the band he helped build. The Han River setting, spare and wintry, carries that emotional register without spelling it out.
From 'Cupid' Chaos to Classic Rock
FIFTY FIFTY's current lineup is the product of one of K-pop's most publicized legal battles. The group's original members, Saena, Aran, and Sio, filed an injunction against ATTRAKT in 2023, citing contract disputes, with the case drawing international attention as it unfolded during a period when "Cupid" was climbing charts globally. When the Seoul court dismissed the injunction and later terminated the three members' contracts, ATTRAKT rebuilt the group from scratch. In 2024, Keena, the sole original member to remain, was joined by four new members: Chanelle Moon and Yewon, both formerly contestants on R U Next?, an MBC idol competition series, trainee Hana, and Athena, a Taiwanese-Korean artist who had previously auditioned for major labels. Their relaunched debut, "Starry Night," and the follow-up "Love Tune" EP signaled that ATTRAKT was committed to the long rebuild.
In Their Own Words
"We are truly honored to participate in such a meaningful project," FIFTY FIFTY said in an official statement released by ATTRAKT alongside the music video launch. "It was an opportunity to once again feel the sincerity and weight that music carries."
Member Chanelle Moon, who has cited Pink Floyd as a personal musical influence, went further. "They are artists who have influenced my musical sensibilities," she said. "This is a moment I will remember for a long time." She added: "Like Pink Floyd, we will strive to become artists who create music that moves people's hearts across generations."
FIFTY FIFTY in 2026
The group heads into this release with real international momentum. "Skittlez," their most recent pre-cover single, charted at No. 38 on the U.S. Mediabase Top 40, as reported by Chosun and Korea Herald in January 2026, a data point that places FIFTY FIFTY in a short list of K-pop girl groups with consistent Western radio traction. The Pink Floyd cover extends that reach into entirely new genre territory, putting the group in front of classic rock fans who may never have encountered them otherwise. One note: member Hana has temporarily paused activities due to health concerns, meaning the group is currently working as a four-member unit for public promotions. ATTRAKT has not announced a timeline for her return. The "Wish You Were Here" streaming release lands regardless, and for a group that's spent two years quietly rebuilding its credibility, the March 24 streaming release is a significant one.
