Xdinary Heroes (엑스디너리 히어로즈) officially announced their 8th mini album DEAD AND on March 20, 2026, as confirmed by JYP Entertainment's official press release. The JYP Entertainment six-piece will drop a pre-release track on March 25 at 6 PM KST, with the full album arriving April 17 at 1 PM KST. Six months out from their seventh release, the band is already moving. No rest, no slow build.
Crime Board Aesthetic, Darker Tone Incoming
The first teaser visuals for DEAD AND showed the six members as silhouettes pinned to what appears to be a crime board, each one connected by strings and notes like suspects in an investigation. The imagery lands significantly darker than the dreamy, romantic palette of their previous album. If LXVE TO DEATH leaned into the idea of love as obsession, DEAD AND seems to ask what comes after. Whether the title resolves as a cliffhanger or a conclusion, the band is clearly leaning into conceptual continuity with their work.
In the lead-up, KBS declined to approve their upcoming track "X Room" for broadcast on March 4, as reported by Soompi, citing unspecified concerns. That kind of broadcast rejection in K-pop is rarely a coincidence with a comeback this close. It signals edge.
Who Is Xdinary Heroes
Xdinary Heroes are a six-member K-rock band under JYP Entertainment via its sub-label Studio J. The name is a deliberate shortening of "Extraordinary Heroes," built on the idea that anyone can become a hero. They debuted December 6, 2021 with the single "Happy Death Day" and have released seven albums since, each building on a connected narrative universe of their own design.
The lineup: Gunil on drums and vocals (the leader), Jungsu on vocals and keyboards, Gaon on rap and guitar, O.de on synthesizers and keyboards, Jun Han on guitar and vocals, and Jooyeon on bass and vocals. What makes them unusual in the JYP roster is the genre. Full instruments, live rock arrangements, K-pop production sensibility. The combination does not always exist, and they own it.
