Gong Myung
Gong Myung (공명), born Kim Dong-hyun, has built one of the cleaner second-act rises in Korean screen acting. He debuted through 5urprise in 2013, but his real advantage has been range without obvious overreach. Extreme Job gave him box-office scale, JTBC's Be Melodramatic showed his low-friction comic rhythm, and later dramas proved he could carry more emotional weight without losing the approachable ease that made him work in ensemble casts first.
The post-service chapter sharpened that profile. After completing military duty in 2023, Gong returned with lead-facing titles including TVING's Way Back Love and tvN's Filing for Love. Those projects pushed him closer to premium-romance and youth-drama territory while keeping one foot in the broader commercial lane that made him valuable to producers in the first place.
He also occupies a rare crossover space. Film audiences know the mass-market side, drama viewers know the warmer romantic lane, and idol-adjacent fans still track the 5urprise origin story and his family link to NCT's Doyoung. Put together, that gives Gong Myung a wider cultural footprint than his understated image first suggests.
