Gunil

Gunil (구건일) is the leader and drummer of Xdinary Heroes (엑스디너리 히어로즈), the six-member rock band under JYP Entertainment's Studio J sub-label. Born Goo Gun-il on July 24, 1998 in Seoul, he anchors the group's sound from behind the kit with a precision that belies his approachable stage presence. He debuted alongside the band on December 6, 2021 with "Happy Death Day", a track that immediately signaled the group's commitment to live instrumentation in an industry where it is often an afterthought. As leader, Gunil balances the creative and interpersonal dynamics of a six-piece that actively writes and produces its own catalog. Xdinary Heroes have released eight mini albums in under four years, headlined two world tours, and performed at major international festivals including Lollapalooza 2025. Gunil's drumming is a defining element of the band's sound, a sound that spans alternative rock, hard rock, and genre-bending territory that defies easy categorization.
