Lay Zhang (张艺兴), born Zhang Yixing on October 7, 1991 in Changsha, Hunan, China, is one of the most commercially successful Chinese entertainers of his generation. He first broke through as a member of the South Korean-Chinese boy band EXO under SM Entertainment in 2012, performing in its Chinese sub-unit EXO-M. While maintaining his EXO membership, Zhang launched a solo career in China with his 2016 EP Lose Control, and in 2020 founded Chromosome Entertainment Group to expand his footprint independently. His work spans music, film, and television. Acting credits include The Mystic Nine (2016), Kung Fu Yoga (2017), Winter Begonia (2020), and the hit crime thriller No More Bets (2023). On the production side, Zhang served as executive producer on NOUERA third mini album POP IT LIKE, released March 9, 2026, which hit career-high first-week sales of 240,000 copies for the group.
