EXO

EXO (엑소) is one of K-pop's most commercially dominant acts, formed by SM Entertainment and debuted April 8, 2012. Originally a twelve-member split concept performing in Korean (Exo-K) and Mandarin (Exo-M), the group consolidated to a nine-member lineup after the departures of Kris, Luhan, and Tao between 2014 and 2015. Current members: Xiumin, Suho, Lay, Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, and Sehun. The commercial breakthrough came with XOXO (2013) and defining single "Growl," selling over a million copies and making EXO the first Korean act to hit that benchmark in twelve years. Five consecutive Album of the Year wins at the MAMA Awards from 2012 to 2016, plus two Artist of the Year wins at the Melon Music Awards. Don't Mess Up My Tempo (2018) debuted at number 23 on the Billboard 200. Exist (2023) became their best-selling South Korean release, moving over two million domestic copies. From 2024, Baekhyun founded INB100, with Xiumin and Chen joining for solo and EXO-CBX activities while remaining under SM for group work. Kai holds a Gucci ambassadorship; D.O. has built a parallel acting career alongside group activities.
