Lee Chan-hyuk
Lee Chan-hyuk (이찬혁) is one of the most important songwriter-producers of his generation. As the creative engine behind AKMU, he helped turn literary folk-pop and left-field melodic writing into chart music with real mass reach.
After winning K-Pop Star 2, Chan-hyuk and his sister built AKMU into one of the most distinctive catalogs in Korean pop, from Play and Sailing to the late-career smash Love Lee. His solo work sharpened the auteur side of the profile. Error won Best Pop Album at the Korean Music Awards, while Umbrella and Eros pushed deeper into visual storytelling, performance art, and concept-driven world building.
That expansion now runs through Cemter of Inspiration, the sibling-led label AKMU launched after leaving YG Entertainment in 2026. Between hit songwriting, exhibitions, books, and solo releases, Chan-hyuk has become a case study in how Korean pop creators can build a career that feels commercial and singular at the same time.
