Lee Hi (이하이), born Lee Ha-yi on September 23, 1996, in Bucheon, Gyeonggi, is a South Korean R&B and soul singer with a vocal depth that consistently outpaced her label circumstances. Runner-up on SBS K-Pop Star Season 1 in 2012, she signed to YG Entertainment and debuted with "1, 2, 3, 4" that October. The track hit No. 1 on the Gaon Digital Chart in its first month with 667,549 downloads, one of the strongest Korean debut single performances of the year. Her debut album First Love followed in early 2013. In 2014, she formed the sub-unit Hi Suhyun with AKMU's Lee Su-hyun. Her 2016 semi-album Seoulite featured "Breathe," written by the late SHINee's Jonghyun, which earned her the Digital Bonsang at the 31st Golden Disk Awards and remains her most streamed release. After signing to AOMG in 2020, she dropped 4 Only in 2021, a studio album that leaned harder into R&B and neo-soul. In September 2024, she moved to duover, the independent label co-founded by her former AOMG colleagues. In early 2026, she departed duover and co-founded 808 HI RECORDINGS with rapper Dok2 (도끼), a label named after his 808 signature and her real name Ha-yi. Their debut duet "You & Me," released March 28, 2026, confirmed both the label's launch and the couple's five-year relationship.
