Lee Hi
Lee Hi (이하이), born Lee Ha-yi, has one of the most immediately recognizable voices of her generation in Korean R&B. She first broke through as the runner-up on K-pop Star, then turned that visibility into a real chart arrival when her debut single "1, 2, 3, 4" hit No. 1 after its October 2012 release under YG Entertainment. That opening mattered because it established her as more than a survival-show graduate. She entered the market with a tone that already felt fully formed.
Her catalog kept widening from there. First Love gave her an early full-length anchor, while 2016's Seoulite sharpened the emotional core of her discography through songs like "Breathe," written by SHINee's Jonghyun. When she later moved outside the YG system, the shift let her lean harder into the softer, mood-rich edges of her voice rather than treating it like a pop outlier that needed constant packaging.
That progression carried into 4 ONLY in 2021 and then into a new independent chapter. In 2026, Lee Hi co-founded 808 HI RECORDINGS with Dok2, launching the label with the duet single "You & Me." On HITKULTR, that makes her page about continuity as much as reinvention: a singer who debuted with mainstream chart force, then kept refining a catalog built on restraint, tone, and long-tail emotional recall.
