Sakuya
Fujinaga Sakuya (藤永咲哉 / 후지나가 사쿠야), born November 18, 2007 in Ishikawa, Japan and raised in Saitama, is the lead rapper, sub-vocalist, and maknae of NCT WISH (엔시티 위시), SM Entertainment's Japanese-majority NCT sub-unit. Growing up in a household where his parents were fans of K-pop, Sakuya developed an early appreciation for the genre before auditioning for SM Entertainment -- a virtual audition rather than an in-person one -- where he passed by performing Masaki Suda's "Sayonara Elegy" for vocals and BoA's "Rock With You" for dance. After just one year of training, he was introduced as the ninth and final contestant on the survival show NCT Universe: LASTART in July 2023, finishing ranked second and securing his spot in the debuting lineup.
NCT WISH released their pre-debut single "Hands Up" in October 2023, followed by their debut single "Wish" on February 21, 2024. The group built their identity through a series of releases -- "Songbird," "Steady," the second mini-album poppop (2025), and the third mini-album COLOR (September 1, 2025) -- each reinforcing what fans call a "refreshing and neo" sound: clear, cheerful, and rooted in genuine camaraderie between the six members.
Standing 175 cm tall with an ENFP personality and AB blood type, Sakuya is defined within NCT WISH as the playful maknae whose curiosity drives everything he does. He describes himself as an "unknown bud" -- someone still growing into his full potential. His best friend in the group is fellow Japanese member Ryo, and his representative emoji is the croissant, a fitting symbol for a self-proclaimed bread obsessive who became so visibly happy eating bread every day during a group trip to Spain that his members said they had never seen him like that before. His hobbies are shopping with friends, taking pictures, and playing soccer; he carries 27 keychains on his bag, and his motto is simply "thank you." If he were not a singer, he would have been a swimmer.
