Shin Ye Eun

Shin Ye Eun (신예은) is a South Korean actress who has spent the years since her debut quietly dismantling every assumption about her range. Born January 18, 1998 in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province, she grew up watching her grandfather perform in theater, studied at Anyang Arts High School, and majored in performing arts at Sungkyunkwan University. She signed with JYP Entertainment in August 2018 after appearing as a college magazine cover model and made her acting debut in the web series A-Teen that same year. Her portrayal of Do Hana earned her the nickname "Nation's First Love," a label that stuck even as she moved far beyond it. She moved to npio Entertainment when JYP dissolved its acting division in 2019, remaining under joint management. Her first lead role came with the fantasy series He Is Psychometric (2019). Her turn as the younger version of the villain Park Yeon-jin in Netflix's The Glory (2022-2023) completely redefined her public image. That role gave her one of the most chilling performances in the entire cast. She followed that with Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born (2024), a period drama centered on women's traditional theater, for which she spent nearly a year preparing vocal techniques for pansori performance on screen. She is currently set to appear in the ENA romantic comedy Doctor on the Edge alongside Lee Jae Wook. She is also in talks to star in Night Traveler opposite Park Bo Gum, which would be her most high-profile leading role to date.
