Shinyu

Shinyu (신유), born Shin Jung-hwan on November 7, 2003, in Yesan, South Chungcheong Province, is the leader and main rapper of TWS. He debuted with the group on January 22, 2024, through Pledis Entertainment, becoming part of the first boy group the label launched since SEVENTEEN in 2015.

Before joining Pledis, Shinyu trained at SM Entertainment for two years during middle school and early high school. He passed the Pledis global audition in 2020 and trained for three years before debut, totaling five years across both agencies. As the main rapper, his melodic flow and rhythmic precision define the group's boyhood pop sound.

Prior to his idol career, Shinyu appeared on MBC's My Little Old Boy as a child actor. Standing at 182 cm, his visual appeal earned him additional recognition within the group. He completed education at Lila Art High School.

With TWS, Shinyu has released three EPs that all topped the Circle Album Chart: Sparkling Blue (January 2024), SUMMER BEAT! (June 2024), and Last Bell (October 2024). The group made their Japanese debut in July 2025. TWS is distributed globally through Geffen Records and Virgin Music.
