Jung Wheein (정휘인) is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and visual artist who built one of K-pop's most distinctly creative solo identities from within the celebrated group MAMAMOO. Born on April 17, 1995, in Masan, South Korea, she debuted with MAMAMOO under RBW Entertainment in June 2014, serving as the group's main dancer and lead vocalist across a decade of acclaimed releases. Her artistry extends well beyond the stage. Wheein earned a devoted following not just for her performance precision but for her visual art practice -- sharing original paintings and illustrations that speak to the same emotional narratives she explores in her music. This dual identity as performer and painter became one of her most distinctive traits in an industry that rarely accommodates that kind of range. Wheein's solo career began with "Redd" (2021) and "Whee" (2022), two compact EPs that introduced the texture of her solo voice. After leaving RBW in June 2022 and signing with The L1ve label, she debuted as a full-fledged solo artist with "IN the Mood," her first full-length album, released in October 2023. The album arrived to critical recognition and marked a genuine turning point in her confidence as a standalone artist. In 2024, she embarked on the "Whee In The Mood [Beyond]" world tour, bringing that solo era to fans across Asia and beyond. Through it all, Wheein has remained an active member of MAMAMOO, contributing to the group's continued activities alongside Solar, Moonbyul, and Hwasa.
