Jeon Wonwoo, known mononymously as Wonwoo, is a South Korean rapper and singer in SEVENTEEN's Hip-Hop Unit. Born July 17, 1996, in Changwon, South Korea, he is recognized for his deep, distinctive voice, introspective lyrics, and literary interests. He has mentioned Haruki Murakami and Hermann Hesse among his favorite authors.
Wonwoo joined Pledis Entertainment in 2012 after passing the company audition. Before SEVENTEEN's debut, he appeared in the pre-debut reality show SEVENTEEN TV. He debuted with the group on May 26, 2015, as lead rapper of the Hip-Hop Unit.
In December 2023, Wonwoo debuted as part of JEONGHAN X WONWOO (JxW), SEVENTEEN's second official subunit. Their debut single Last Night was pre-released ahead of the subunit's official EP This Man in June 2024, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.
Wonwoo enlisted for mandatory military service on April 3, 2025, alongside fellow member Mingyu. His discharge is scheduled for January 2, 2027. He has contributed lyrics to numerous SEVENTEEN tracks.
