Wumuti
Wumuti (우무티; Chinese: 吾木提; Uyghur: ئۈمۈت) is a Chinese Uyghur singer, rapper, songwriter, and producer who serves as leader of XLOV. Born Umut Tursun on July 7, 1999, in Urumqi, Xinjiang, his name means "hope" in Uyghur. He is one of the first Uyghur artists to gain significant visibility in the K-pop industry.
His path to XLOV spanned multiple survival shows and group projects. He won the first season of MBC Music's Super Idol in 2015, debuting as a member of C-pop group SWIN and its sub-unit SWIN-S. He later competed on MBC's Under Nineteen (2018), Mnet's Boys Planet (2023), and Build Up: Vocal Boy Group Survival (2024). Following Build Up, he joined the project group WATERFIRE under LYNNA Entertainment.
As leader and producer of XLOV, Wumuti personally scouted and assembled the group's members. He co-wrote and produced the debut single "I'mma Be" and serves as the creative anchor of the group's genderless concept. He launched his solo career on June 30, 2024, with the single album "You Make Me Better." XLOV released their debut mini album UXLXVE in November 2025 to international acclaim, with the group touring Japan and the Philippines that year.
In March 2026, 257 Entertainment was acquired by WM Entertainment (RBW), with XLOV and Wumuti transitioning to the new label. He is fluent in Uyghur, Chinese, Korean, and English, and has tattoos including one that reads "Hope is Umut" in braille and the Big Dipper constellation, honoring his mother whose name means "star."
