Yeji
Hwang Ye-ji (황예지; born May 26, 2000, Seoul), known as Yeji, is the leader and main dancer of ITZY under JYP Entertainment. Raised in Jeonju, she was introduced to dance by her older sister through Wonder Girls choreography. She became a JYP trainee in 2015 after auditioning with TWICE's "Like Ooh-Ahh". 2PM's Junho famously called her "JYP's secret weapon" during her 2018 appearance on SBS's The Fan.
Debuting as ITZY's leader on February 12, 2019, Yeji anchored the group's choreography-first identity. She ranked 1st in the Korean Business Research Institute's brand reputation for girl group members in August 2019. Studio Choom named her "Artist of the Month" in March 2021 for her cover of Bishop Briggs' "River". In November 2023, she and Chaeryeong served as mentors on the survival series Universe Ticket.
On March 10, 2025, she released her debut solo EP Air, a four-track project built around themes of self-discovery. She co-wrote the lead single's lyrics to convey the intense immersion she feels on stage. That same month, she was named brand ambassador for Roger Vivier, appearing in their "Un Été à Paris" Summer 2025 campaign at Pont Neuf. Additional endorsements include Laneige, Valentino Beauty, Chaumet, and Tirtir.
In March 2025, Yeji donated 50 million won to Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association for wildfire victims and firefighters in Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam.
