Base Camp Company
Base Camp Company (베이스캠프컴퍼니) is a South Korean talent management agency co-founded in April 2025 by veteran actors Cha Tae-hyun and Jo In-sung, longtime friends and industry peers who spent over two decades at the same agencies before launching their own operation.
The agency name is deliberate: like a mountaineer's base camp, the company aims to provide artists with a secure, reliable foundation before they head into the field. Management staff are drawn from the founders' immediate professional circles, with most having worked alongside Cha Tae-hyun and Jo In-sung for at least seven years prior to the launch.
The founding roster expanded quickly. Jin Ki-joo became the first signed artist in April 2025, joining as the agency made its public debut. Actor Lim Joo-hwan signed shortly after, brought in by his longstanding friendship and trust with the two founders. Both are well-established in Korean drama and film, matching the agency's positioning at the senior end of the industry. Lim Joo-hwan's recent international credits include a role in Sky Atlantic's Gangs of London Season 3 (2025), broadening the agency's footprint into British prestige television.
Base Camp Company operates with intentional restraint, favoring a small, selective roster over volume. The founders remain active in their own careers: Cha Tae-hyun appeared on tvN variety show Handsome Guys (2024), while Jo In-sung's political thriller Humint opened in Korean theaters on February 11, 2026. Jo In-sung is further attached to the upcoming sci-fi horror Hope and the Netflix drama Possible Love.
