RI Games Holdings is the Korean game company at the center of WEBTOON Entertainment's push from adaptation licensing into direct gaming ownership. Official WEBTOON materials frame it as a dedicated games pipeline built on stories with established global fandom, which makes the company more strategically important than a one-off publishing partner.

The operating structure is what gives RI real weight. The company works through GrayGames and Offbeat, with a slate tied to webcomic-heavy audience magnets such as Overgeared, Doom Breaker, and Omniscient Reader. WEBTOON also tied the first big push to an Overgeared action MMORPG being developed by GrayGames and published globally by Nexon, which makes RI look less like a passive holding company and more like an active franchise machine.

WEBTOON said it would acquire a 60 percent majority stake for about $100 million, while RI founder Kevin Tail Han brought in the Redice Studio lineage and a development team with credits on games such as MapleStory M, Tower of God: New World, The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross, Lineage W, and Aion 1. On HITKULTR, RI matters because it gives WEBTOON a direct route for turning comic-world attention into repeat game business instead of licensing those economics away.
