Ahn Hyo Seop and Chae Won Bin Are Ready to Close the Deal in Sold Out on You
SBS rom-com Sold Out on You confirms April 22 premiere as script reading stills reveal the bickering chemistry between Ahn Hyo Seop and Chae Won Bin.
March 17, 2026
SBS has locked in the premiere date for its spring rom-com Sold Out on You (오늘도 매진했습니다), and the chemistry coming out of its first script reading suggests this one is going to hit. Ahn Hyo Seop and Chae Won Bin lead a cast that also includes Kim Bum and Go Doo-shim, with the series slated to air on April 22, 2026.
Quail Meets the Shopping Queen
The setup is deceptively simple: Matthew Lee, played by Ahn Hyo Seop, is a perfectionist farmer known around his rural village by the nickname "Mechuri" (meaning "Quail" in Korean, a playful corruption of how his last name sounds). He has built an orderly life out in the countryside of Deok-poong Village, juggling multiple jobs with quiet discipline. That order gets upended when Dam Ye-jin, played by Chae Won Bin, rolls into town. She is a top-tier home shopping host who has clocked over 1 trillion KRW in cumulative sales and runs on silver-tongued confidence. She also cannot sleep.
Two people who are intensely devoted to their work but surprisingly bad at taking care of themselves. Their lives become tangled day and night, and the show is built around watching them slowly figure each other out.
It is a premise that could coast on the leads alone, but the script reading on March 10 suggested something stronger. Ahn Hyo Seop reportedly brought sound effects to the table for every tractor scene. Chae Won Bin reportedly lit up the room during the persuasion sequences. Director Ahn Jong-yeon opened the session by telling the cast he wanted "an enjoyable and happy set," and from everything that came out of it, that tone appears to be landing.
A Cast Built for This
Kim Bum joins as Eric Seo, executive director of cosmetics company L'Etoile. He is warm and direct, says exactly what he feels, and brings a secondary tension that could complicate the central romance. Go Doo-shim rounds out the leads as the unofficial head of Deok-poong Village, offering potatoes to newcomers instead of ramen in what sounds like the show's signature running gag.
The wider supporting cast includes Yoon Jae-chan as Ye-jin's work colleague, Jo Woo-ri as a dessert cafe owner, and Eun Sun-woo as a secretary. The ensemble is stacked, which is partly what makes this feel like a serious effort rather than a filler rom-com.
Writer Jin Seung-hee and director Ahn Jong-yeon handle the production, made under a joint banner between Beyond J, Netflix's Studio S, and Slingshot Studios.
Where and When to Watch
Sold Out on You premieres on SBS on April 22, 2026, running every Wednesday and Thursday for 12 episodes. International viewers can catch it on Netflix. The official SBS teaser is already out and worth two minutes of your time.
